Just for Parents
Parenting—the responsibility of rearing good, kind, ethical, responsible human beings—is the biggest job anyone can embark on”.
—Maria Shriver April 2017
Parenting is becoming more and more challenging in today’s ever-changing world. Brain Zone offers the C.A.R.E. Approach to Parenting. C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Consider; Accept (and adapt); Relate; and Empower. Jaydra Hymer, the founder of Brain Zone, developed and refined the C.A.R.E. approach in her over thirty years of working with parents Jaydra has conducted parent consultations and taught parenting classes for over three decades, including being contracted by Social Service agencies to provide “last chance” family preservation services—teaching court-ordered parenting classes, and working in the home with parents at risk of losing their parental rights. Brain Zone offers parents the following options:
Jaydra offers one-on-one consultations with parents. During these consultations, Jaydra helps parents apply the power of C.A.R.E. Parenting to the specific challenges that they face with their child/children.
C.A.R.E. Parenting Classes
These parenting classes are in large-group format and are held once a week for 10 weeks. They are for parents who have children with challenges, as well as parents who don’t have any particular challenges, but want to help their child/children live their greatest possibilities. The goal of C.A.R.E. parenting is to help children discover who they are, evolve into what they can be, and leave meaningful footprints in the sand of life.
C.A.R.E. Parenting Master Class
The master class is limited to four couples (or single parents). This small-group format allows more time during class to address the challenges each parent faces.
