ADHD, Asperger's, and Autism

ADHD, Asperger’s, and Autism can create a host of challenges. Brain Zone offers programs for all ages to help:

At Brain Zone, we know that every individual who has ADHD, Asperger’s, or Autism is unique and has a unique set of challenges. So instead of offering a “one-size-fits all”, we offer an individualized approach which leads to enhanced outcomes cognitively, academically, emotionally, socially, and behaviorally. Individuals can select from a “buffet” of options to fit a variety of needs and budgets. Our approach includes the following five-part process:

PART 1— ASSESSMENTS

We conduct assessments to determine the target challenges that are causing problems and their contributing factors.

PART 2— CREATING AN INDIVIDUALIZED SUCCESS PLAN

The individualized success plan will incorporate the components needed for success.

PART 3— BRAIN "MECHANICS"

There are a variety of factors that play a part in how well the brain “powers up” and performs. Optimal brain functioning is like a well-running machine. To increase brain functioning, we utilize a combination of programs, exercises, and protocols to help:

  • Increase neurogenesis—the creation of new neurons; and neuroplasticity— rewiring, fine-tuning, and strengthening the brain.
  • Enhance neurotransmitters (the brain’s messengers for learning & performance).
  • Increase mental fuel—the brain requires fuel or energy to perform optimally.

Meditation and Mindfulness

In today’s fast-paced, high-tech world, a child can easily experience heightened levels of stress, anxiety, restlessness, or being over-stimulated. Two great ways to minimize these negative emotions and behavior are meditation and mindfulness.

Meditation is the act of spending time in quiet thought.

Mindfulness is noticing what is happening right now. It is noticing how your body feels and what you see, smell, hear, and taste. It is noticing the emotions you are feeling. It is also noticing what your mind is doing.

The benefits of meditation and mindfulness for kids include increasing:

  • Overall emotional regulation.
  • check
The ability to use their brain to make good things happen.
